Back In The Blogging Game

Well it's been a very long time since I've posted anything on our family blog. This is due in large part because Sarah and I have been living in the analog age for way too long. We finally got a new digital camera. I guess when it takes two or three tries to find a store, any store, to develop film it's a sign that you're not with the times. So we feel cool, like 99% of the rest of the world now that we have a digital camera.

I couldn't think of a better way to break our new camera in then to post some video of Kate doing what she loves to do most.....Just DANCE!! This video captures the essence of Kate's bubbly personality and her wonderful ability to entertain all of us.

The editing is no where near the professional editing skills of my sister Cari but it doesn't matter because Kate lights up the screen. I guess all in all I'm just a really thankful dad who loves his baby girl.

Pictures From Kate Birthday Bash @ Jumpin Jacks

This is sure tiring but my hair still looks great.....
AHHHHHH!!!!! Jumpin' Jacks Rules Dude.

HE!!! HE!!! HE!!! This is fun and I like to giggle.

Look at me I'm the oldest and I'm really cool.

At the end of the day they really do love each other.

Our Baby Is Starting KindergartenThis Year......What's Up With That.

Happy Birthday Kate!!!!! I can't believe that Kate is 5 today. I can still remember the frantic drive to the hospital just to get there in time for Kate to be born. She was born about 5 minutes after we got to the hospital. She came so early and was so very small but we all felt her sweetness even in her small body.

I will never forget giving her a blessing with Dad very soon after she was born and in the intensive care unit. She was struggling to breathe and the doctors seemed quite worried. I must say that I too was very nervous and worried. But then just as we completed the blessing Dad said, "look at that Craig..." I looked down and Kate had taken her tiny hand and grabbed a hold of my dads finger. Unable to even come close to getting her tiny fingers around his. It was the first sign of real life in her and I knew that she was going to be just fine. I'll always remember the spirit I felt as she struggled to grab her papa's finger. Now every time I see her smile I remember what a blessing she is.

Today we went to Jumpin' Jacks and played on the bouncing slides. The kids all had a great time ( See pictures below). Then it was back home for cake. I think that the kids really had a good time. I wish the pictures were a bit more clear but I'm working with my cell phone. I can't bring myself to buy a digital camera. I think the more that I post on this blog the more motivated I'll become to make the investment and not be such a cheapskate.

Here's some pictures of the fun we had at Jumpin' Jacks.

Emily's Choir Concert

Emily our oldest daughter (13) had a music concert at school the other day and I thought I'd post a picture of her performing. That's her in the middle second row with the glasses (picture taken with my cell phone...I need to break down and buy a digital camera ). She is so beautiful! We are so happy with the young woman she has become. I often think back to when I was 13 and think to myself......Emily is so much smarter then I ever was at her age. You see Emily is a great student something I never really ever knew about until College and even then I didn't really know it very often. I really admire her drive and determination to do well in school. Not to mention her great singing voice. She really makes us happy with her happy and lovable personality.

My leap into the blogosphere.......

Tonight I was sitting here reading from my sisters blog and was thinking to myself that this would be a great way to record how thankful I am for my family and really have a place to go to write what's happening with my families life. Mostly to just be thankful because there is so very much for me to be thankful for.

So I've taken the leap into the blogosphere.....Let's see where this takes us.

Thanks Cortney, Cricket and Cari for inspiring me to start this up.
